Heimir Hallgrimsson has earned the right to stay on as Ireland manager no matter what happens on Sunday afternoon in Budapest.
One of the finest performances in decades illustrated Ireland’s improvement under their new boss. It’s a gradual process. Thursday’s fireworks notwithstanding, we can’t be sure what’ll happen on Sunday. The revival is real all the same.
