We could be about to see a reduction in food prices ahead of Christmas.

A supermarket price war is now underway after both Lidl and Aldi sliced the price of their own-brand bread.

Both German retailers have cut the price by 10 cent a loaf, following similar price reductions for milk last month.

Other supermarkets will now be under pressure to do the same.
