By any standard, this was a great win with a memorable team performance from Ireland. In the end, we didn’t just beat the Wallabies, we beat them by a record winning margin.
In mitigation, Joe Schmidt’s charges were awful and Joe himself was clutching at straws when claiming the final points difference was “exaggerated somewhat”. Andy Farrell’s team, by contrast, were at their best this year.
