Junior housing minister John Cummins has confirmed proposals that will allow older people to subdivide their homes into flats will be brought forward in an attempt to boost housing supply.

Housing Minister James Browne has moved away from plans that would encourage older people to downsize and is instead examining a plan that would allow older people to split their family homes into flats, the Sunday Times reports.
