Ryanair says minor technical issues resulted in delays on a Kerry route on two consecutive days this week.
Yesterday’s flight from Kerry to Luton was diverted to East Midlands Airport in the UK.
On Wednesday, the same service was delayed by several hours.
Wednesday’s Kerry- London Luton service had been scheduled to leave Farranfore before 11am but didn’t leave until almost 6.30 that evening.
Ryanair says the delay was due to a minor technical issue with the aircraft.
It says passengers were notified and provided with refreshment vouchers.
The airline says the same service was diverted to East Midlands Airport yesterday, also, due to a minor technical issue with the aircraft.
Ryanair says to minimise disruption, it arranged for a replacement aircraft to operate this flight to Luton, which departed later that day.
Radio Kerry was contacted by a man who says he was a passenger on this flight – he claims the diverted plane was in East Midlands Airport for over five hours before they were put on a flight which took 15 minutes to land in Luton.
He claims they arrived in Luton five hours and 45 minutes later than the scheduled arrival time.
