Gruffalo author Julia Donaldson is in Penrith today to sign copies of her latest book.

The award-winning children’s author has published Paper Chase today and is signing copies at the town’s Hedgehog Bookshop.

Paper Chase is the story of two children who meet under a tree. They become friends … but then are parted.

When the tree is cut down to make paper, the story follows its incredible journey to become paper and all the things it becomes.

The heart-warming ending sees the children reunited by a paper plane.  

It is illustrated by Victoria Sandøy.

This year, grandmother-of-nine Julia became the UK’s number one bestselling author of all time and was the number one bestselling author of 2024.
