EXCLUSIVE: Ahead of the Toronto Film Festival premiere of his dark comedy Adulthood, starring Josh Gad and Kaya Scodelario, which has already lined up North American and UK deals, multi-hyphenate filmmaker Alex Winter has signed with Cinetic for management as it pertains to directing, writing and producing.
A director, actor, producer and documentarian, Winter’s Adulthood sees siblings Megan (Scodelario) and Noah (Gad) discover a dead body, long buried in their parents’ basement, sending them down a rabbit hole of crime and murder. The film premieres at TIFF today and opens in select theaters via Paramount’s Republic Pictures September 19, releasing digitally September 23.
This fall, Winter returns to Broadway in Waiting For Godot, reuniting with his Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure co-star Keanu Reeves in a production directed by Jamie Lloyd that begins previews on September 13.
From acclaimed documentaries including Showbiz Kids, Zappa and the recent The YouTube Effect to roles in the iconic Bill & Ted franchise and more, Winter continues to build on an award-winning and unusually wide-reaching career spanning genres and disciplines. His former manager, Russell Hollander, will transition to a role as Winter’s producing partner for future projects, with Connie Tavel at Forward Entertainment continuing to rep him for acting. Winter is also represented by CAA.
The announcement follows news earlier this summer of Cinetic inking Caught Stealing scribe Charlie Huston.
