James Hagan passed away suddenly over the weekend and has been remembered as a “gentle soul”.

A large number of tributes have been made following the death of an Irishman while he was travelling abroad.
James Hagan, who is from Mullaghmatt in Monaghan town, is said to have died “suddenly” while he was travelling solo.
Funeral details for the young man have not yet been confirmed but his death notice describes him as “eternally missed” by his “heartbroken” parents Leo and Jenny, his sister Leonia, his brothers Raymond, Luke and his niece Caitlin.
The notice continued: “His large circle of friends, neighbours and friends will always fondly and remember James with love.

A wave of touching tributes have come following James’ heartbreaking passing, with some describing him as a “true genetleman” and “gentle soul”.
“A true gentleman, loved meeting him, and having the craic with him,” read one of the many tributes.
Another added: “Our deepest condolences to Jenny and all the Hagan family on the devastating loss of your son, James. You are very much in our thoughts and prayers.”
Others said: “So sorry to hear the news. James was a gentleman and always had time to talk. God bless him.”
A fellow mourner described James as a “lovely, down-to-earth guy” while another called his sudden death as “devastating”.
“So very saddened to hear about James’s so sudden death and so young,James was a lovely lad with a gentle manner and a lovely smile,” another tribute read.
“He will be missed around Monaghan.My deepest sympathy to Jenny, Leo, and family and to Bernie and Susie and all of the extended family and friends. Rest in peace James.”
