After a few days in a row of bad weather, we had less than 10 minutes of clear sky to capture new images of comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS, clearly detecting three fragments of the original nucleus and possibly a fourth one.

Comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS: several small nuclei are visible. 18 Nov. 2025.
The image above comes from the sigma-clipping combination of 7, 60-second unfiltered exposures, remotely taken with the Celestron C14+Paramount ME+SBIG ST-10XME robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project in Manciano, Italy. We had just the time to captures that handful of frames before clouds covered the whole sky.
We clearly see the main fragments we tracked earlier, but with hints of a possible fourth piece, as indicated below.
Comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS: main fragments (a, b and c) and a possible fourth (d) one.
We also managed to update our animation, including our 11, 12, 13, 14 and 18 Nov. data, see below.
Comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS: evolution.
On 25 Nov., we will show this comet live: join us from the comfort of your home!
