Jordan Chiles exclusively told PEOPLE how she felt about getting a perfect score on Dancing with the Stars alongside partner Ezra Sosa

Jordan Chiles is reflecting on her and Ezra Sosa’s flawless dance routine.

During the Dancing with the Stars semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 18, the gymnastics star and her partner performed a Jive to “Raspberry Beret” and an Argentine Tango to “U Got the Look.” The pair’s routine seemed to really impressed the judges and audience alike, earning them a perfect 30/30 score.

“That’s my first perfect score in anything,” Chiles, 24, quipped to PEOPLE in a joint interview with Sosa, 25. “And I’m so happy it was on Dancing with the Stars. Now I actually feel more confident in myself of getting a perfect score in my sport, which is pretty crazy to say.”

Throughout her career, Chiles has earned two Olympic medals: a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Moving forward, the athlete teased that she would be taking some of her new skills and applying them to her gymnastics routines.

“Me and my choreographer, BJ at UCLA, have definitely talked about putting in some ballroom movement into my floor routine,” Chiles revealed. “So you guys better watch out. Also, this season is going to be such an amazing floor routine. You guys are going to enjoy it.”

The athlete gushed about how supportive Sosa has been throughout their journey on the show, noting just how much they’ve improved since week one. “I do have to say it was a very remarkable experience,” she said after the pair officially made it to the finale on Nov. 25.

“He is such an amazing partner. Words can’t describe the journey that we’ve been on, and so I just have to say, thanks for always being there by my side,” Chiles continues. “Literally through the ups, through the downs, through everything that we’ve gone through. And now, my guy, you made it to the finale and we got a perfect score.”

For his part, Sosa was still in shock after receiving the news that he and Chiles had earned themselves a spot in the finale alongside five other couples. “I fell to the floor and I’m still processing exactly what just happened,” he tells PEOPLE.

The dancer adds, “But in all, I’m just so excited and it’s like a dream come true of mine. I’ve never believed in a million years I’d be here, but here we are.”
