Two men have been arrested in Co Meath after gardaí seized a seven-figure haul of herbal cannabis.
The two men, both ages in their 30s, were arrested following the intelligence-led operation earlier today.
In total, approximately €1,080,000 worth of herbal cannabis – weighing in at 54kg – was seized by An Garda Síochana.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: “This seizure of approximately 54kg of herbal cannabis was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Meath Divisional Drugs Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service.
“Gardaí arrested two men, both aged in their 30s, who are currently detained at a Garda station in Co. Meath under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.”
