Eros Innovation has closed approximately $150 million in capital and strategic acquisitions as the company accelerates its transformation into an AI-driven media and entertainment platform valued at $2 billion.

The transactions include a $50 million primary investment led by Plenitude Capital and approximately $100 million in creative and technology acquisitions spanning film, music and AI-related assets.

The funding round, advised by Greenback Capital at the Dubai International Financial Centre, will fuel expansion of Eros Innovation’s AI infrastructure, development of immersive content formats and growth of its intellectual property portfolios. The company operates with over $1 billion in assets, zero external debt and positive free cash flow.

“We are building the sovereign creative infrastructure of the future — where content, capital, and computation converge to deliver intelligent and ethical entertainment to billions of people,” said Kishore Lulla, founder and chair of Eros Innovation.

Central to the company’s strategy is Eros GenAI, a proprietary multimodal foundation-model platform trained on 1.5 trillion cinematic, musical, behavioral and cultural tokens. Developed in partnership with IIT Chennai, the AI stack is designed for scalability and cultural adaptation across markets.

The platform’s capabilities include AI-driven video generation and editing, voice dubbing and synthesis, automated lip-sync, generative music and audio intelligence, and avatar creation. Eros GenAI will power tools across all company verticals, from creator applications to live and virtual experiences.

As part of the expansion, Eros Innovation has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of Empirical Wax, a London-based immersive entertainment studio specializing in real-time AI music and cinematic production. The acquisition will be integrated into the company’s Eros Xperiences division, enhancing capabilities in live avatar concerts, virtual stage environments and mixed-reality productions across mobile, AR/VR and physical venues.

The company has also completed acquisition of a $97 million intellectual property portfolio, adding films, music and multilingual digital content to its catalog. The acquisition expands both the company’s monetizable licensing base and its proprietary AI training data corpus.

Eros Innovation now operates an ecosystem encompassing more than 80 million subscribers, 12,000-plus film titles, 100,000-plus AI-ready characters and 2 billion global fans. These assets will underpin the forthcoming Eros Universe Super App, a character-led creator-economy platform combining AI tools, tokenized content and immersive experiences within a unified interface.

The platform is designed to enable creators, partners and fans to co-create, distribute and monetize stories, characters and experiences in real time across multiple markets.

Headquartered in the Isle of Man with operations across London, Los Angeles, Abu Dhabi, Mumbai and Chennai, Eros Innovation reported $35 million in EBITDA last year and projects exceeding $100 million by December 2026.

The company’s divisions include Eros GenAI, Eros Universe entertainment platforms, Eros Xperiences immersive ventures, AI Parks R&D hubs, Eros Brahmand Studios cinematic universes, Eros Music World label and tokenization initiatives for IP monetization. These are the latest iterations of a distribution and studio business that began in 1977.

The news was unveiled on the sidelines of the ongoing WAVES Film Bazaar, the market arm of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa.
