Staff and shoppers at a Penneys department store in a midlands town underwent a “terrifying” ordeal as they watched on in horror while two men left “blood spilling” from each other during a violent brawl, a court has heard.
Michael Keenan, An Cluain Road, Youghal Road, Dungarvan, Co Waterford, caused almost €1,300 worth of damage to clothing, the vast bulk of which had come from his co-accused who “got more than he bargained for” during the unseemly ruckus at Penneys, Golden Island Shopping Centre, Athlone, Westmeath on May 31, 2023.
