Troy Parrott’s family are rightly on a high this week after the footballer’s run of goal-scoring games, but it was his mam and granny who stole the show on the Late Late on Friday.
Jennifer and Josie were in the audience, with host Patrick Kielty making sure to say hello to them and find out how they celebrated Troy’s success.
As it turns out, Troy and his mam had a pretty low-key celebration after his hat trick but Josie, went all out and good on her!

‘Mammy Jennifer, you’ve got the grin on your face there,’ Patrick said as he joined them in the audience.
Jennifer replied: ‘Every time I see it, I’m after seeing it [Troy’s goals] on the screen there, it’s unbelievable, very emotional.’

As for how they celebrated, Jennifer revealed: ‘He came back to the hotel, we were staying in the one the team were staying in, and we just went down the road and we got KFC and came back to the hotel and just sat there until half 11 just talking about what happened.’
Pretty low key, considering how impressive the goals were and the giddy chaos they inspired across the nation!

As for how Josie’s week has been, Patrick said she was a star in her own right and had made it on the news. Josie laughed, telling Patrick: ‘I went pub crawling, got loads of free drinks!’
She continued to explain that she was in Murray’s for Troy’s first goal and missed the second as she was on her way to another pub.
While in the third, she saw her grandson score for the third time and got a free pint.
After the game, Josie headed to another pub where she: ‘Got given a bottle of champagne and little bottles of wine and because I don’t drink that he gave me a Heineken.’ Clearly, Troy isn’t the only legend in his family!

Late Late viewers loved seeing Jennifer and Josie on the show, with one writing on a clip: ‘Just gorgeous. So down to earth and humble. Lovely to see.’
‘Can’t beat the Irish nanny,’ said another, while a third wrote: ‘Gowan Josey our neighbour Portland row superstar road.’
