Chris Hamilton, who was the Unite union rep for Grangemouth, was the first guest to appear on the programme to discuss the future of the former oil refinery as green energy hub.

Radio Scotland Breakfast will later hear more about plans for the site when it is joined by Scottish Secretary Douglas Alexander.

The launch of the new programme comes as part of a suite of changes across BBC Scotland news and current affairs output on television and radio.

Good Morning Scotland presenters Laura Maxwell and Gary Robertson have moved across to other programmes.

Robertson is replacing Geissler as the presenter of The Sunday Show on BBC One Scotland and BBC Radio Scotland as well as the hour-long radio news programme on Saturdays.

Maxwell moves to BBC Radio Scotland’s early evening news show Drivetime, where she will share the single presenting duties with Fiona Stalker across the week.

She will also present editions of Lunchtime Live.
