Wildlife officials are hopeful that multiple recent Asian hornet sightings are related to two nests that have already been dealt with. However, food traps and special tracing mechanisms are being deployed to ensure that a third nest does not exist.
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) officials confirmed that there have been 24 verified sightings of Asian hornets, the majority of which are in the greater Cork area.
