TRON: Ares
Disney has announced a December 2nd digital release and a January 6th disc release date for “TRON: Ares” – the title arriving on digital two months after its theatrical run began in early October. The movie was a flop, earning a worldwide gross of $142 million against a budget of around $180-220 million. [Source: Disney]

Judy
Actor Michael Stuhlbarg (“Call Me By Your Name,” “Men in Black 3”) says that the upcoming Alejandro González Iñárritu-directed film “Judy,” which stars Tom Cruise, is “the craziest thing I’ve ever been a part of in my life. It’s fantastic”.

The actor adds it was the “longest shoot I’ve ever done” with filming running from October to May. The story follows a powerful global figure who races to convince the world he’s its saviour – before the catastrophic consequences of his own actions bring about widespread destruction. Wicked 3
Universal Pictures’ chief marketing officer Michael Moses says because of the financial and fan success of the two “Wicked” movies, the studio has “almost a responsibility to figure out how we can continue in this universe”. He then adds: “Have we figured it out yet? No. But there are things underway.” [Source: Vulture]

Marty Supreme
A24 has moved up the release date for special 70mm showings of the Timothée Chalamet-led ping pong drama “Marty Supreme”. The film will be shown in 70mm in New York City and Los Angeles on December 18th – a week before its nationwide release on December 25th.

Additional 70mm screenings will take place in select cities on Christmas Day. The Josh Safdie-directed $70 million film was shot on 35mm using Arriflex cameras and vintage anamorphic lenses. [Source: A24]

The F—boat
Glen Powell (“The Running Man,” “Twisters,” “Chad Powers”) is set to produce the R-rated teen comedy feature “The F–kboat” at Paramount Pictures. Story details are under wraps.

Caroline Glenn and Sean Doherty penned while Dan Cohen will also produce the film, which Powell’s Barnstorm production company landed in a competitive deal with multiple bidding producers. [Source: Variety]

No Other Choice
Park Chan-wook’s “No Other Choice” leaked online a week ago, which has led to a flood of screenshots and reactions, over a month before the film’s December 25th limited release. Today, it has been announced that IMAX will have a one-night-only screening on December 8th in 100 cinemas nationwide.

The film is adapted from Donald E. Westlake’s 1997 satirical thriller “The Ax”. Lee Byung-hun stars as a paper factory manager who loses the job he has held for 25 years. Shaken and humiliated, he becomes consumed with the need to restore his dignity and secure his family’s future before his home is lost. [Source: World of Reel]
