Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has sent an apology to fans as she’s had to be repliced by her ‘glorious’ co-star in a big first for the soap.

The actress, who is known and loved for playing DS Lisa Swain in the ITV soap, was among the show’s cast due to be part of the upcoming ‘An Audience with Coronation Street’ tour.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that fans could get even closer to Corrie’s most iconic names as they hit the road with their very own theatre show.

The new tour is billed as an “unforgettable night on the cobbles” with guest stars including Corrie’s Simon Gregson, Jack P Shepherd and Patti Clare, and it quickly sparked huge interest among soap fans.

Hosted by This Morning’s soap expert, Sharon Marshall, An Audience with Coronation Street will include an interview session with famous faces from the show, which will tour a number of locations across the country in September.

But Vicky, who was due to appear at the September 24th show in Glasgow, has confirmed that changes to the filming scheduling mean she’s no longer able to attend.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday (September 11), the soap star wrote on her Story: “”I’m so, so, sorry to miss the Glasgow show for An Audience with Coronation Street on 24th September.

“Due to unavoidable last-minute schedule changes, I won’t be able to be there. Every possible scheduling option was explored, however it was just not possible i’m afraid. This was completely out of my control.”

She went on to confirm: “In my place, I am delighted that the legend and utterly gorgeous ‘Sunshine Sue Devaney’ will be joining the line-up instead – she is going to be amazing – she IS amazing!”

Vicky then concluded: “I know it’ll be an incredible evening celebrating 65 years of Corrie magic. I’ll be there in spirit. Sorry, Vicky.”

A statement confirming the news was also posted on Corrie’s official Instagram page. It read: “As we head towards the exciting An Audience With Coronation Street tour, we are sharing the news that due to an unavoidable and complicated change in her filming schedule, Vicky is no longer able to join the Glasgow show on September 24th.

“Sue Devaney will now step on stage in the place. Vicky is very sad that she’s unable to be there. Please note it’s important to understand that she had no prior knowledge or influence on her schedule.”
