This weekend, S.Coups and Mingyu – two members of the beloved 13-member K-pop group Seventeen – made their highly-anticipated debut performance at Abu Dhabi’s Dream Concert. As part of Seventeen’s hip-hop unit, the pair have long been recognised for their dynamic stage presence, and their recently launched sub-unit, CxM, has only amplified that synergy.
While the entire group last performed for their UAE fans at the Korean Brand & Content Expo in 2019, their return had been eagerly awaited – especially by fans who had been longing to experience S.Coups and Mingyu’s signature high-energy performances live once again. With the crowd ready to sing along to every word from CxM’s new album Hype Vibes, as well as a few Seventeen favourites, it’s safe to say the excitement was mutual.
In an exclusive photo diary shared with Vogue Arabia, the artists take fans behind the scenes of their day in the UAE capital. From an adrenaline-filled visit to Ferrari World and candid moments captured in their bold stage ensembles, to their reflections right after the performance, with a promise to return as soon as possible.
“Before rehearsal, catching our names on stage got me hyped and charged with energy. It’s been a while since we performed for fans in the Arab region, and since it was CxM’s first time, we had worked really hard for the stage, and wanted to give it our all.” – S.Coups
