Just a year after she appeared to ‘dump’ her husband via Instagram, the Princess of Dubai is engaged once again to rapper French Montana, ex-boyfriend of Khloe Kardashian.  

Last week, as Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum surprised her followers with news of her engagement, no words were needed and the picture of her ‘seven figure’ sizeable diamond ring took centre stage.

Moroccan-American rapperFrench Montana, real name Karim Kharbouch, was seen cradling his wife-to-be’s hand, as his publicist confirmed to TMZ that the pair got engaged during Paris Fashion Week in June.  

The pair – who have an estimated joint worth of around $350million – have been spotted together since 2024 at mosques, dining in upscale restaurants in Dubai and Morocco have also shown their love for each other while strolling around the Pont des Arts in Paris. 

Sheikha Mahra, 31, the only daughter of Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Greek socialite Zoe Grigorakos, has an  extensive family fortune and is worth an estimated $300million. 

With such a fortune behind her – in addition to her future husband’s own $50million – it’s likely their nuptials will be nothing less than extravagant.  

Last year, she launched her own perfume brand Mahra M1 and called one of her scents ‘Divorce’ after dumping her ex-husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, in a public Instagram post in 2024.

She broke up with her industrialist husband after a year of marriage and two months after they welcomed their daughter, as rumours of infidelity clouded their relationship. 

The princess wrote last year: ‘Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.’

In her message, she seemingly used the practice of Islamic divorce or triple talaq, where Muslim men can divorce women by simply stating their intention three times verbally.

Sheikha Mahra – who studied in London in 2023 – was given the birth name of Christina, an homage to her mother’s Greek heritage and she still uses the moniker in her Instagram handle, @_xtianna_. 

Boasting more than one million followers on Instagram, the Princess often shares snippets of her jet-setting lifestyle.

The International Relations graduate recently travelled to Portugal and has been to other exotic places such as Morocco, Miami, Orlando, Paris and Greece with her new fiancé, seemingly taking private jets to these locations. 

Always perfectly presented with a full face of glamorous makeup, the mother-of-one shares business ventures from her perfume company and also personal updates, such as when her daughter, Mahra bint Mana Al Maktoum, turned one. 

She has an estimated personal worth of around $300 million, according to the Times of India and French Montana is reportedly worth around $50 million.

The publication says that her family’s collective wealth is estimated to be around $18 to $20billion, meaning their wedding is likely to be a no-expense spared event.

The couple have not set a date for their big day or organised exact details as of yet, but the outlet was told that both sides of the family were excited about the union. 

The musician, 40, commissioned fine jeweller Mavani, who only makes custom pieces by appointment, to create her engagement ring. And while the jeweller did not share the exact price of the statement piece, they did re-post Instagram stories claiming the ring was worth $1.1 million.

The business proudly posted a video of the glitzy ring on their Instagram, writing: ‘I want to thank French for trusting us with this enormous 7-figure 11.53ct GIA emerald cut ring that he commissioned us to make for this special moment!’ 

If the couple’s opulent token of affection is anything to go by, fans of French Montana and the Dubai royal might expect their wedding to be just as lavish. 

And couple’s nuptials are sure to be grand if the Princess’s last wedding is anything to go by.

She stepped out in an angelic, majestic white gown made by Dubai-based designer Ezra Couture, which was embellished with Swarovski crystals. 

Erza Santos told Arabia Weddings as per Sportskeeda: ‘She (Mahra) wanted a Grecian-themed dress, something very simple yet regal, but also something that was a nod to her culture. 

‘The catch was she wanted it in nine days. But Sheikha Mahra was so humble and so down-to-earth and accommodating that she made the whole process easier.’

The Princess paired her luxurious outfit with eye-catching diamond jewellery pieces, including a jewel-filled watch by Chopard.

Photographs published in Harper’s Bazaar Arabia at the time show that Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana went for a white, cream and silver theme, as  Laylati Weddings & Events were in charge of the wedding decor. 

Tables were dressed up with white roses, crystal glassware, Voss water, China plates and candles while the rest of the venue was decorated with multiple bushes of elegant white flowers.

Sheikha Mahra, who doesn’t appear to do things by halves, then had an impressive seven-tier wedding cake, which the couple cut with a traditional sword.

French Montana, originally from Casablanca, Morocco, has also been married once previously to Deen Kharbouch, a designer and entrepreneur, in 2007, meaning it will be the couple’s second wedding. 

He previously dated Khloe Kardashian for most of 2014, previously telling Haute Living: ‘Me and Khloe are always going to be friends, and the family still remains close.’ 

During the breakdown of her first marriage, family orientated Sheikha Mahra spoke out about her father’s support last year. 

She posted a picture of herself and Sheikh Mohammed and wrote: ‘Thank you for your support. Thank you for your love.’
