A never-before-seen chapter of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill saga is coming to life in the last place fans would expect.
The trailer for The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge was posted to the official Fortnite YouTube channel recently, giving fans their first look at the Kill Bill tie-in film that never was. Yuki’s Revenge will see Tarantino’s fabled film come to life in Fortnite after a long 20-year wait. Better yet, original star Uma Thurman is back to voice Kill Bill’s iconic Bride.
Kill Bill Gets a New Chapter in Fortnite
Thurman made her debut as The Bride back in 2003 with the release of Kill Bill: Volume 1. Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, Kill Bill introduced audiences to the Deadly Vipers Assassination Squad, led by David Carradine’s ruthless Bill.
When the Bride attempts to rehearse her upcoming wedding, she and everyone else are attacked and left for dead by her old crew, during which she reveals to Bill that she is carrying his unborn child.
After surviving her encounter with the Deadly Vipers, the Bride slips into a four-year coma. Upon recovering, she sets out to take revenge on Bill and the Deadly Vipers, making quick work of anyone else who gets in her way.
Among the Bride’s unfortunate foes is Gogo Yubari, portrayed by Chiaki Kuriyama, whose death was intended to launch a spinoff film, Yuki’s Revenge, starring Kou Shibasaki as the sister of the slain assassin. While the script for Yuki’s Revenge has floated around online for years, the upcoming Fortnite release will be viewers’ first chance to see the story come to life on-screen.
As seen in the trailer, The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge will see the Bride hunted and hounded by Yuki, who has traveled all the way to the United States to claim vengeance for Gogo’s demise, all of which culminates in numerous explosive action sequences and pulse-pounding fight scenes.
The official Fortnite blog released a statement alongside the trailer’s release, which reads, “Visionary director Quentin Tarantino had a dream of a Kill Bill chapter that never made it to the silver screen, a chapter known as Yuki’s Revenge. Over 20 years later, Tarantino and Epic have come together to bring the story to life in Fortnite.”
Just days after the release of The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge in Fortnite, Kill Bill fans will be able to head to theaters to catch both volumes of the hit series in a single, four-and-a-half-hour-long viewing courtesy of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. The film combines both Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Kill Bill: Volume 2 into what is sure to be an epic viewing experience for theater audiences.
Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is currently slated to arrive in select theaters on December 5. The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge will be released in Fortnite on November 30 at 2 pm EST.
