Brooklyn Beckham’s former girlfriend Lexi Wood has lifted the lid on their secret relationship and shared her thoughts on the tensions surrounding his marriage to Nicola Peltz.

The Canadian model, 27, said that she and Beckham quietly dated for “more than a year” after they were first photographed kissing at a West Hollywood tattoo parlour in April 2018, just weeks after his split from actress Chloë Grace Moretz.

“I think when it broke out [in the news], we probably dated for longer than people thought, but because we were both young, we really did love privacy,” she said.

Despite their breakup before Beckham met Nicola Peltz in late 2019, Wood described her ex as “an amazing person” and expressed nothing but goodwill toward the now-married couple.

Wood added that she has met Nicola and her brothers and found “they’re all amazing.”

Brooklyn and Nicola wed in April 2022 at her family’s Palm Beach estate in Florida, later hosting a second, smaller ceremony at the Peltz family’s Westchester County estate in New York last month.

But the lavish follow-up celebration has fuelled reports of a growing rift between the couple and the Beckhams; parents David and Victoria, along with Brooklyn’s siblings Romeo and Cruz, and even his younger sister Harper, were noticeably absent from the guest list.

Asked about the family feud rumours, Wood chose her words carefully.

“I think that you never know what happens behind closed doors,” she told Daily Mail. “And all I know is my experience and my experience was amazing – Romeo and Cruz are the best people I’ve ever met. They’re the best.”

While Brooklyn’s marriage has become the focus of headlines, his former partner remains unequivocally positive.

She shared: “And I just think the moment that I met his parents, they raised such a great family and I’m so family oriented that that’s something that I’ve just always really looked up to and I hope to have one day. So I just respect them, I respect her family, I respect all of them. And my experience was really great.”

Woods’s comments come after Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their vows in New York in August without inviting the Beckhams.

Sources later revealed that during his wedding speech he paid tribute to the Peltz family but made no mention of his own parents.

Brooklyn and the Beckhams were last pictured together on Boxing Day 2023, with insiders suggesting the rift shows little sign of healing.

It was also recently reported that Brooklyn has turned to his father in law Nelson Peltz for support as he looks to launch a new restaurant venture in America.

The 26-year-old aspiring chef is said to be planning to open a burger joint, Beck’s Buns, with the backing of his wife and her billionaire father.
