Nick Jonas is going solo – again.

The 33-year-old singer and one-third of the Jonas Brothers announced Nov. 30 that he would release a solo album for the first time in nearly five years. The project, “Sunday Best,” will hit streamers Feb. 6.

Made with Republic Records, the same label responsible for the Jonas Brothers’ four most recent albums, “Sunday Best,” is expected to draw from the younger Jonas’ church choir roots and bring listeners in for an intimate portrait of his life.

“I’m so excited to share these new stories, candid thoughts, quiet walks home in the city, and snapshots of my life over these past few years,” Jonas said in a release alongside the announcement. “While this album was made over the course of the last two years, it was truly 33 years in the making.”

Jonas first revealed the album at a brunch Nov. 30 in Las Vegas, treating fans to live performances of some of the new tracks and revealing collaborators for the project, including JP Saxe, Josette Maskin of MUNA, Blush and Ryan Daly.

Jonas’ decision to release a solo album comes over 10 years after his desire to release music on his own helped fuel the original disbandment of the Jonas Brothers.

In 2014, he reached commercial success on his own with hits like “Jealous” and “Chains” off his self-titled album. He and brothers Joe and Kevin have since reunited, finding shared acclaim again as the Jonas Brothers. The group has most recently been touring to promote their latest project, “Greetings from your Hometown,” reuniting with Disney stars like Jordin Sparks and Demi Lovato on stage. They’re also in the holiday spirit, dropping a Christmas album and a holiday film, “A Very Jonas Christmas.”

While loyal fans may feel anxious that Jonas’ announcement of a solo album threatens the (relatively) newly reformed Jo-Bros, Jonas has yet to signal that “Sunday Best” is anything but a side project. Kevin Jonas recently released a solo single, while Joe Jonas released “Music For People Who Believe In DNCE,” with his own band, DNCE, in 2024.
