A bruised Czechia squad have appealed for unity between players and supporters, after one of the most difficult spells in modern history for the national team, as they prepare for a World Cup date at home to the Republic of Ireland in March.
And while the Czech FA will wait until after a board meeting on Tuesday to confirm a venue for their home semi-final against Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side, the chairman of Slavia Prague – who is also a senior member of the Czech FA board – has given a strong indication that Slavia’s 19,500-capacity home ground in the capital will get to host the game, despite some suggestions that the tie could be moved to one of the provincial cities there.
