Captain America’s Avengers Team For Avengers: Doomsday Revealed By Disney

Sam Wilson’s team for Avengers: Doomsday might have just been revealed. The Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s next Avengers movie is easily one of the most ambitious films the franchise has ever added to its release schedule. Not only will the event pull in heroes from all over the MCU, but Avengers: Doomsday ‘s cast also features Fox’s original X-Men, and likely more multiverse characters.

The MCU’s 2025 movies introduced a mystery for the next Avengers movie to resolve, as both Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts* set up new Avengers teams for the MCU. Marvel has yet to confirm which will be the main team in Doomsday, with Sam Wilson’s Avengers only including him and Falcon in Brave New World. However, that appears to have finally changed.

At a Disney event in Italy (via @avengersupdated/X), Captain America’s new Avengers team was seemingly revealed, including Sam Wilson, Thor, Loki, Shang-Chi, Falcon, and Ant-Man.

A character many thought could be joining the MCU’s new Avengers team, Letitia Wright’s Shuri, was described as being part of The Wakandan Warriors, not the Avengers team that features Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. No other details about the Avengers roster were revealed.

The new MCU update does not mean that those six characters will be the only heroes on Captain America’s new Avengers team. At the event, Disney talked about the Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal live-stream as having revealed part of the cast of the movie, not all of it. That echoes what Marvel Studios’ President, Kevin Feige, explained in April.

Speaking about Avengers: Doomsday’s cast at the time, Feige said, “We revealed many, not all.” As such, reported MCU characters to be in the movie, which include major franchise players like Chris Evans as Captain America/Steve Rogers, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, and more could still appear.

Based on that, it stands to reason that Sam Wilson’s Avengers team could grow by the time fans first see it onscreen in Avengers: Doomsday. With Thunderbolts*’s post-credits scene revealing Sam was not happy about the anti-heroes calling themselves the MCU’s New Avengers, it would make sense for Captain America’s superhero team to be considered the main one in Doomsday.

As such, there are many heavy hitters who could still join Sam’s team. As it stands, Captain America’s Avengers include a nice range of powers, going from two gods to the holder of the Ten Rings to the hero who defeated Kang the Conqueror to Captain America and his new best friend. The Avengers: Doomsday trailer could reveal more team members when it releases in December.
