Dangerous Animals, the acclaimed horror starring Jai Courtney, has landed a new streaming home in the UK.

The Australian film sees the actor play Tucker, a shark-obsessed serial killer who abducts Zephyr (Hassie Harrison). As he holds her captive on his boat, a cat-and-mouse game ensues.

Written by Nick Lepard and directed by Sean Byrne, the horror has now found a streaming home in the UK following its theatrical release earlier this year, with the film available to stream on MGM+.

The streamer is available as an add-on to Prime Video, with existing subscribers of that service currently able to secure a seven-day free trial. After that point, MGM+ costs £5.99 per month.

Prime Video can be acquired with an Amazon Prime subscription, which is currently priced at £8.99 per month. New subscribers can also get a 30-day free trial, with other benefits including free delivery and extra cloud storage.

In our review of the film, we wrote: “You’ll be hooked on Dangerous Animals thanks to Courtney’s superb performance, one of his best to date. From the opening scene, he walks the fine line between charismatic and menacing, dryly funny and chilling.”

“Killer turns by Harrison and Courtney make the gritty and violent tale a thrilling trip to sea,” opined The AV Club, while RogerEbert.com dubbed it an “efficient, clever genre mash-up”.

“It takes a steady hand to pull off a horror film as outlandish as Dangerous Animals, but Byrne has pulled off something slick and confident here. It’ll keep horror fans out of the water for years,” noted Time Out.

While the horror-thriller is now on MGM+, Prime Video recently added a spy thriller to its service, with the Phoebe Dynevor-led Inheritance being made available on the streamer on 5 September.
