It’s been a good year for electric cars in Ireland. Sales were up 36pc to the start of December. There’s a much bigger choice of affordable models at prices similar to petrol or diesel. Ranges on high-end models have increased.
Even infrastructure is slightly better, with some new charging facilities opened on major intercity routes.
