Sharing an exciting update about a second season, Froggatt, who plays Jan Da Souza, on-screen wife to Hardy’s Harry Da Souza, said filming on the new season will begin next month.

Speaking to MovieWeb, Froggatt said: “[We] Start shooting [Season 2] towards the end of October… So a few weeks? I’m so looking forward to going back to film season two of MobLand.

“I loved, loved, loved it. I mean, it was such a great script and such a great character. Just [an] incredible cast. Yeah, I feel really, really blessed. I love playing Jan. I always wanted to play a gangster’s wife or a gangster, and then she came my way.”

A hit among critics, the first season, which has a score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes from 45 reviews, was described as “epic” and “grizzly”.

“The idea that a Tom Hardy character cajoling, threatening or influencing someone is an art form in itself is the core of MobLand, a decent new gangster epic that casts Hardy as top fixer Harry Da Souza,” penned The Guardian.

The Standard said: “The series is a silly, grizzly jaunt, in typical Guy Ritchie fashion, and some of the stars are an absolute hoot. The trouble is that other than a few entertaining performances and a well placed Fontaines DC opening track, it’s really nothing new.”

“MobLand isn’t a grand reinvention of the gangster show,” wrote Collider. “But it does offer plenty of twists and turns, paired with a magnetic cast that will have you eagerly anticipating every new episode.”

MobLand season 1 is streaming now on Paramount+.
