Wilfried Nancy will be hoping to begin his Celtic career with a winning start against Hearts.

Three points will take the Bhoys back to the top of the league, and continue the momentum that was built up by Martin O’Neill.

Nancy’s style is very different to what we have experienced from previous managers, but many were expecting things to stay the same in the opening few weeks before imposing his philosophy.

However, he has taken everyone by surprise with his first starting XI.

Wilfried Nancy goes with 3-4-3 formation in first Celtic game

The 48-year-old has found his success from adopting a 3-4-3 formation, which could allow the likes of Reo Hatate to thrive.

O’Neill and Brendan Rodgers preferred a 4-2-3-1 option, but this signals that the new boss wants to hit the ground running.

The back three comprises of Liam Scales, Auston Trusty and Kieran Tierney – the latter familiar to this role as he plays it for Scotland.

A midfield four of Benjamin Nygren, Hatate, Arne Engels and Callum McGregor offers a fresh perspective in the middle of the park.

Sebastian Tounekti returns to the XI after two games on the bench, with Daizen Maeda and Hyunjun Yang completing the side.

The new era is here, and we can’t wait.
