The stacked six-inch shoes featured a platform sole and super-high block heel, as well as a delicate buckle-fastening ankle strap keeping the foot steady—sensible teetering.

Ortega has long been a fan of the super-high heel—at a very petite four foot eleven, it gives the Wednesday actor the height necessary for the flowing, sculptural gowns that have become her signature. She paired her Bevza dress with some Roker Highbury boots, shoes that have an almost four-inch platform and seven-and-a-half inch heel. (Roker boots are a staple for Ortega, wearing the same pair to the Academy Museum Gala, and more casually out and about in New York.) Then, she paired her ivory D&G dress with gold metallic platforms, also from the label. Outside of Morocco, Ortega opts for the more stacked style of Christian Louboutin sandals.

The stacked heel has been experiencing a bit of a renaissance of recent—just in time for party season. Chemena Kamali’s Chloé has continued to bang the drum for the boho wedge, while Valentino’s platform Garavani heels in jewel tones have endured through the seasons, and Sabrina Carpenter (all five foot one of her) remains devoted to the sky-high satin Versace Medusa Aevitas platforms. Prada even re-introduced an archival shape of platform derby-espadrilles; more ugly chic than Christmas party-ready, but the stacked shoe can really be for everyone.

With party season picking up and the awards show circuit loosed on us all, expect to see more of the stacked heel and platformed stompers—let Jenna Ortega lead what you add to cart.
