Over the years, media outlets have cut hefty checks for the first photos of celebrity babies, from Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children to Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s twins.

Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt — $14 million

When Angelina and Brad welcomed their twins, Knox and Vivienne, in July 2008, the media was eager to get its hands on the newborns’ first photos.
At the time, an insider told Today that People and Hello! magazine scored a joint deal and coughed up $14 million for the snaps.
Three weeks after their birth, the twins and their famous parents were featured on the August cover of People.
The “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” co-stars, who were together from 2004 to 2016, reportedly donated the money to charity.
Max and Emme Muniz — $6 million

Lopez and Anthony, her ex-husband, welcomed their twins, Max and Emme Muniz, in February 2008.
People magazine reportedly paid between $4 million and $6 million for a first look at the little ones, the outlet’s digital platform reported at the time.
However, a rep for the magazine claimed the reported price tag for the photos was inaccurate, per Forbes.
Shiloh Jolie — $4 million

Shiloh Jolie, who dropped their father’s last name in 2024, was born to Angelina and Brad Pitt in May 2006.
According to ABC News, People reportedly paid the exes $4 million to debut their child’s photo.
The magazine’s cover photo featured the three lying down, with the “F1” star looking at his newborn and Angelina staring at Pitt in awe.
Levi Alves McConaughey — $3 million

TMZ reported that the couple, who started dating in 2006 and wed in 2012, received a $3 million payday from Hello! magazine.
The family of three was featured on the cover of the magazine’s August 2008 edition.
Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt — $2 million
Angelina and Brad debuted a first look at their adopted son Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt for $2 million in 2007.

The actors reportedly sold photos of Pax to People magazine for $2 million after bringing him home from Vietnam, per Forbes.
A March 2007 cover photo showed Angelina holding her son, and Brad was notably missing.
Danielynn Birkhead — $2 million
Larry Birkhead reportedly sold a photo of his and Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter, Danielynn Birkhead, for $2 million shortly after the model’s death.

According to W Magazine, Larry then made a deal to sell his daughter’s first published photo to OK! magazine for $2 million.
The father-daughter duo appeared on the April 2007 magazine cover.

Max Bratman — $1.5 million
