Early on Friday, Vicky Kaushal took to his Instagram stories to share his reaction after watching Dhurandhar. The actor became the latest Bollywood star to appreciate the film, offering a brief but warm review of the Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna starrer.

Vicky reposted a poster of the film featuring Ranveer and praised director Aditya Dhar for delivering a well-crafted and ambitious project. “@adityadharfilms you beauty! What a mammoth task it must have been for you and your team to pull off this film with such conviction, finesse and first-rate world-building. Hats off,” he wrote.
He also applauded the cast — including Ranveer, Akshaye Khanna and R. Madhavan — adding, “Absolute peak performances! Technically brilliant. Supremely engaging. Kudos to all the Dhurandhars involved.”
Vicky previously worked with Aditya Dhar on the 2019 hit Uri: The Surgical Strike, based on the Indian Army’s 2016 surgical strikes following the attacks in Uri.
Fan theories link Dhurandhar to Uri
In recent days, fans have discussed a possible link between Dhurandhar and Uri. In Dhurandhar, Ranveer plays Hamza, an undercover operative chosen by an Indian intelligence chief (R. Madhavan) to infiltrate Rehman Dakait’s (Akshaye Khanna) gang in Lyari, Pakistan.
The climax reveals that Hamza is actually Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a convict offered a chance at redemption through the mission. The name caught fans’ attention because, in Uri, a dialogue between Vicky Kaushal and Kirti Kulhari’s characters mentions her husband, Captain Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who was killed during an operation.
Industry reactions and box office
Over the past few days, several celebrities — including Hrithik Roshan, Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar and Smriti Irani — have praised Dhurandhar on social media. While the film opened to mixed critical reviews, audiences have responded very positively.
About Dhurandhar
Set in Pakistan, the spy thriller follows an Indian agent who infiltrates Lyari-based terror networks. The film explores themes of espionage, intelligence operations and undercover missions. Along with Ranveer and Akshaye Khanna, the cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R. Madhavan.
Dhurandhar opened strongly at the box office and has collected over Rs. 177.74 crores so far. The film is written, directed and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, alongside Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar under Jio Studios and B62 Studios. A sequel is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, 2026.
