The Paramount+ series filmed in Dublin has a terrific cast and is fine, but gets less watchable as the plot gets ropier

By now everybody knows that we’re in the season of Flu Telly. Yes, it has come earlier this year. It’s the most important season in the television calendar. Bigger than Christmas, bigger than all that sports stuff, bigger than Dancing With The Stars, bigger than The Traitors. Biggest, or as an authoritarian lunatic used to say, although not so much these days, bigly.

Flu Telly is big at the moment. Flu Telly happens when you cannot do anything except watch television, preferably while you are lying down. You don’t want anything depressing, what with your immune system on the floor, but you do need a bit of diversion.
