“No, no, no!” Dundalk shopkeeper Brendan Marmion says when asked if he has any plans to retire. It is, perhaps, a tactless question, as he has just celebrated 40 years in business at his popular decorating centre in Clanbrassil Street.
“I’m really enjoying life because of the kids in the shop, it’s keeping me young,” says Dundalk’s ‘Paint Man’ who began working when he was just 13 years of age after finishing primary school.
