A persistent knee injury has forced the outgoing Donegal captain Patrick McBrearty to retire from inter-county football, bringing an end to 15 years in green and gold.
The Kilcar man has been part of the Donegal squad since 2011, making his debut as a substitute in the Ulster SFC quarter-final against Antrim on the same day that he had featured for the county’s minors.
