As the Russian military drones flew over Poland last Tuesday night, I was sleeping in my childhood home 70km from the Ukrainian border.
In the morning, a text message from the Polish authorities arrived on everyone’s mobile phone, asking people to maintain order. We kept calm and carried on, but the air we breathed that day felt heavier than usual.
