A hotel in Tipperary has announced that they will be temporarily closing for the month of January due to financial and operational circumstances.
Kilcoran Lodge Hotel & Leisure Centre, which is situated just outside the town of Cahir in Tipperary, made the shock announcement to staff and customers last week on December 23.
In a statement posted to the hotel’s Facebook page, they shared the sad news of the closure with their customers.Â

“To our valued guests, Kilcoran Lodge Hotel & Leisure Centre will be temporarily closed from Monday, 5th January.
“Thank you for your understanding and continued support — we look forward to welcoming you back in early spring 2026,” said the hotel.
The hotel reportedly employs around 20 members of staff, who have been temporarily laid-off for the duration of the closure.

The company who owns the hotel has been in receivership since 2022.
The hotel was put up for sale this year to find a buyer, with a recent advert for the site saying that a sale has been agreed.
