Ireland is braced for a big freeze – with temperatures set to drop and weather warnings incoming.

The nation is now well familiar with the colour coded weather warnings, yellow, orange and red. Storms like Eowyn turned the maps entirely red and were history-making. Yellow warnings are more common – and forgettable.

But what about Orange warnings – the middle ground between the unpleasant and the extreme? Should we be more cautions or are we cautious enough?

The school run can be stressful at the best of times. The roads are busy. The mornings and evenings dark. The roads busy. So the question is: Should all schools close their doors ever time there’s an Orange warning?
