As the future leadership of their Market Basket grocery store chain hangs in the balance, members of the Demoulas family are also waging a different internal war — this one over the family trust that will determine how their wealth is distributed to the next generation.
In February, judge Terri Klug Cafazzo ruled in one of the family’s probate cases that Frances D. Kettenbach should be named a co-trustee of the T.A.D. Family Trust over the objections of her brother, Arthur, who was later ousted as Market Basket’s CEO. Arthur T. Demoulas has said he will appeal the probate decision.
