Kilkenny won their 36th All-Ireland and 11th under Brian Cody in dramatic fashion in 2015, beating Galway 1-22 to 1-18 to secure their second title in a row.

The Cats trailed 0-14 to 1-8 at half-time but after hitting the front in the 47th minute never looked back as they ran out four points winners.

It was Liam MacCarthy’s fourth trip home in five years, a journey unfortunately he has failed to make since.

The day also marked the end of an unusual trend as it halted a streak of three final replays in a row (2012, 2013 and 2014) after 53 years without one.

Last week, many of that team from a decade ago (plus a couple of older legends!) met for a night of pints and nostalgia.
