There was plenty of joy, with some shock for one family this New Year’s Day in Wexford General Hospital as the maternity ward welcomed the first baby of 2026 in the county.
Caitlin and John Redmond from Carnew, Co. Wicklow were overjoyed to welcome their first child, Aodhá Kate Redmond at 6.50 p.m on Thursday, January 1, weighing in at exactly eight pounds.
