Pea Dinneen: Raising Her Voice was one of the standouts at the Dublin Fringe Festival this year, and you’ll still meet lucky audience members waxing lyrical about what a great time they had at the show. Dinneen wraps serious messages – about being trans, her experiences with the National Gender Service, and life in post-crash Ireland – in sugary 1990s pop songs played with a band. This year will surely hold more exciting moments for Dinneen, who is also a co-founder (alongside Aoife Sweeney O’Connor) of the queer cabaret EGG. Dinneen is raising her voice, and we should all listen.
