The champions of Ulster and Connacht clash in the All-Ireland Club semi-final this afternoon as Scotstown take on St Brigid’s.
Provided the weather plays ball, there’s every reason to believe these two teams can serve up a cracking last four tie.
After several near-misses in Ulster, this generation of Scotstown footballer emulated the achievements of the great An Bhoth teams of the past by winning a fifth provincial title for the north Monaghan men.
Only once in their illustrious history have they gone on to reach the All-Ireland final when they lost out to Nemo Rangers in 1979.
St Brigid’s were in Croke Park as recently as 2024 when a stunning individual goal from Conor Glass turned the tide in favour of Glen.
Anthony Cunningham’s men regained their Roscommon and Connacht crowns this term, defeating Moycullen of Galway in the provincial final.
