Aoife Walsh has finally got her fairytale ending after her boyfriend proposed while the couple were away on a romantic holiday in Lisbon.

The former Miss Ireland, 36, looked utterly shocked in gorgeous engagement pictures from the proposal as her new partner, Ben, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

He chose a stunning rooftop terrace overlooking the city at sunset to pop the question, and while Aoife looked like she didn’t expect the proposal at all, she admitted it was: ‘The easiest yes of my life.’

Aoife was wearing a simple white dress for the proposal and gave her followers a glimpse of her gorgeous engagement ring, which appears to be an emerald cut diamond ring on a simple gold band.

She was inundated with well-wishes from Irish celebs as Rosanna Davison wrote: ‘Aww Aoife congratulations,’ while Una Healy said: Congratulations xxx,’ and Louise Cooney commented: ‘Awwwww Aoife I’m so happy for you. You deserve all the happiness!! These photos are just gorgeous x’

In an update to her followers, Aoife wrote: ‘Honestly gals, I don’t even know where to start. Beyond shook. I actually can’t believe it like.

‘Ben did such an amazing job keeping it a surprise I was not expecting it at all. Best surprise of my life! Beyond thrilled honestly so so happy! Literally on cloud 9 like can’t explain! Wow.’

This comes just weeks after the model hard-launched her new romance on social media with an adorable video with her new beau, confirming she’d found her Mr Right after waiting patiently.

Aoife said that the couple were in a ‘love bubble’ and gushed about her now fiancé, calling him the ‘most incredible, kind, thoughtful person’ but has remained tight-lipped on her partner’s identity, and simply called him by his first name, Ben.

However, she admitted it was ‘nerve-wracking’ in the lead-up to sharing this update in her romantic life online as she’s a single mum.

Aoife later told her followers: ‘Thank you so much for all the love, it means so much! It can be nerve-wracking sharing such personal news online, especially being a mum and quite some time, but it felt right.

‘We’ve been quietly in the love bubble for a while and just so happy living life and having space and time to grow.’

‘He is honestly the most incredible, kind, thoughtful person I have ever met, and I’m so lucky that the universe brought us together. Life is so sweet right now, and I couldn’t be more grateful.’

Aoife is a single mum to four-year-old daughter Penelope, whom she shares with her ex-fiancé, whom she split from not long after after they welcomed their baby girl to the world.

After the breakdown of her relationship, Aoife and Penelope packed up their belongings and moved in with her parents at the age of 33.

The influencer told her followers at the time: ‘It’s not necessarily where I thought I’d be or what I thought my life would look like but that’s okay. Do I have a roof over my head, do I have a healthy daughter, do I have a healthy mum and dad, am I all good, am I happy, those are the things I focus on and try to portray on my social media.’
