Fresh from hosting the final of RTÉ’s Ireland’s Fittest Family in December, Beyond the Trees Avondale will kick off the New Year by hosting a series of accessible fitness challenges aimed at the whole family, which will run every Saturday and Sunday from January 10 to February 1.

Participants will have the opportunity to test their strength, endurance, and teamwork through a range of timed challenges, including a plank challenge, bar hang challenge, wall sit challenge, and a sled pull up the tower.

The event will also feature a tower build challenge at the very top of the Treetop Walk tower, inspired by the iconic task seen on Ireland’s Fittest Family final.

Building on that momentum of hosting the final of Ireland’s Fittest Family, Treetop Walk Avondale wanted to create an inclusive experience that allows visitors to challenge themselves while enjoying one of Ireland’s most scenic attractions.

It gives people the chance to try out some of the activities winners the McKenna family from Monaghan had to endure.

Treetop Walk Avondale regional manager Adrian McGreevey said: “Hosting the Ireland’s Fittest Family final was incredibly inspiring for our team.

“We wanted to carry that sense of motivation into the new year by creating a fitness event that’s welcoming, enjoyable, and suitable for everyone — whether you’re coming on your own, with friends, or as part of a family group.”

Designed to suit all fitness levels, the initiative aims to encourage people of all ages to embrace movement, fresh air, and wellbeing as part of their New Year routine.

The fitness challenges will take place during a dedicated time slot each day, with participants required to book their slot between 10am and 11am. Booking can be made by contacting Gavin Fallon at Gavin.fallon@eak-treetopwalks.com or by calling or texting 083 848 1069.
