Plugging in your iPhone before bed could be putting you at serious risk, Apple has warned.
The tech giant says charging your phone while you sleep can lead to fire, electric shock, injury or damage especially if the device is covered or can’t ventilate properly.
Leaving a phone under a pillow or duvet is particularly dangerous, Apple warns, as it can overheat and even start a fire.

The tech giant warned that only ‘Made for iPhone‘ or certified USB-compliant chargers that meet strict safety standards should be used.
They added that unsafe adapters could pose a risk of serious injury or even death.
Apple also urged users never to charge their phone near water or liquids and to throw out chargers immediately if they become damaged or stop working.
