A 72-year-old man has appeared in court in Belfast charged with human trafficking and rape.

Oliver MacCormack, with an address at Maghaberry Prison outside Lisburn, faces a total of 14 charges involving three alleged victims.

They include an offence of trafficking a woman on dates between January 2021 and May 2022 with a view to her exploitation.

He is also charged with rape, administering a substance with a sexual intent, and a number of charges of controlling prostitution and supplying a Class A drug, heroin.

He faces further charges of intimidation of a witness and paying for sexual services.

The offences cover a period between 2016 and 2022.

The accused appeared from custody by video link.
