Three teenagers and a woman in her 30s have been arrested after gardaí seized a Glock 17 handgun, €25,000 worth of cocaine and €370 cash in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10.

Gardaí attached to the Drugs Unit Serious Crime South Clondalkin functional area conducted a search operation in the area on Wednesday as part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of drugs

Gardaí said a domestic residence was searched and a Glock 17 handgun was seized along with ammunition. Suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €25,000, €370 in cash and a number of electronic devices “of evidential value” were also discovered.

“An adult male in his late teens was arrested and has since been charged and appeared before Court,” a Garda spokesperson said.

“He is remanded to appear before Court 3, Criminal Courts of Justice on January 22.

“Two adult males (aged in their teens) and one female (aged in her 30s) were also arrested.”

Gardaí added that all people have since been released and files will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
