A man in his 40s has died following a road crash in Co Kerry.

The two-car collision occurred on the N22 near Dromadeesirt at approximately 6:40pm.

The man’s body has been removed to the local mortuary where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The other driver, a man in his 30s, was brought to University Hospital Kerry for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

No other injuries were reported at the scene.

The road is currently closed for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to witnesses, particularly any road users with video footage (including dash-cam).
