A popular bar in Leitrim has applied for planning permission to Leitrim County Council for upgrades to the premises.

Dunnes Bar in Carrick-on-Shannon is seeking permission to extend the bar and redevelop parts of the site. 

The proposal aims to extend the existing bar area with a new bar located to the rear on a lower ground level. This new area will also include the provision of a retractable roof.

In addition, the application seeks permission to carry out internal alterations to the layout of the existing bar and circulation areas.

The plans also include the formation of a new street access to the rear of the property, along with modifications to the existing external steps.

Further proposed works involve the change of use of an existing residential dwelling to a games room and ancillary office space. 

The development also proposes the construction of an extension to the games room, including alterations to the building’s elevations and improved external access.

The application also includes the construction of a new service yard, along with general site development works.
